All-time CFL Rushing Record

#1 Bart Godfrey - 16,049
#2 Archie Chaser - 15,974


The Tennessee Militia are very pleased to announce that Bart Godfrey eclipsed Archie Chaser's all-time rushing record and is the first back in CFL history to rush for over 16,000 yards. Godfrey was quick to point out the numerous steller linemen that helped pave the way for him throughout the years. Many of them were on hand in Detroit to see the record fall. Word has it that Godfrey and his current and past O-line celebrated pretty heavily out on the town in Detroit and his official designation on the injury report this week is "conceivable" Although, most that wittnessed the after game affairs would be more likely to rate him as a "unlikely to make an impact".

Here's mister Godfrey's rushing career...On top of that he had a lot of receptions. He's a sure fire HOF'er when he decides to hang it up. I am actually surprised he has done this well this year.

155 Games or 156 vs. Archie's 172

Archie was one hell of a back. As I have been tracking the pursuit of this record, I have gained a great appreciation for what Archie was able to accomplish. And if Junior Wolfe stays on track, he has a realistic chance of passing Bart some day.......if Bart decides to retire that is........

Also of note: Bart is about 21 TD's shy of the all time TD record (Shaun Wirtz) and 12 TD's shy of the rushing TD's record (Alan Spearman)....Perhaps if he doesn't retire, he can take a crack at those as well. Even if he gets those it would be short lived as Wolfe will soon own all the TD records.....Unless someone goes Jeff Galooly on him.....
