Game Report: Brooklyn 13, Atlantic City 27
Week 9
PLAYER OF THE GAME – RB J.R. Brustkern
With the vastly improved passing game, Brustkern has not been relied on us much to be the focal point of the offense. This means he is not carrying the ball 25+ times a game and his output has been decreased. This week, Brustkern broke the 100 yard barrier for the first time this year with 19 carries for 113 yards.
MISSING IN ACTION – FG Team
In weeks 7 and 8, Atlantic City was the team that blocked a field goal. This week, it happened to them as a bad snap led to a block. Kicker Dixon Finch was also short on a 46 yard field goal late in the first half.
4-13-BKN33 (2Q: 09:38) Dixon Finch attempted a 50 yard field goal and it was blocked by Zach Chasser. BKN Freckles Fleck recovered the ball at the ACI47. You can blame the block on a bad snap from center.
IF YOU MISSED IT
• For the third straight game, the Phantoms were involved in a blocked field goal. This week they were the victim, however, as a poor snap led to Brooklyn blocking an Atlantic City field goal attempt.
• Maybe NT Darren Richardson should try some time at FB. After a 65 yard return last week after a blocked field goal, Richardson returned a fumble 86 yards for a score. All of this from a guy who is 317 pounds.
• TE’s Myron Learned and Carlos Polhemus each caught a touchdown pass for Atlantic City
BY THE NUMBERS
83 – Rushing yards allowed by the Phantoms defense.
292-288 – Atlantic City had a mere 4 yard advantage in total yards
3- Turnovers by Brooklyn
UP NEXT
Hartford (8-0)
