Game Report: Atlantic City 6, Hartford 29
Week 10
Biggest Play:
The game was already out of reach but giving up a long td run late in the game is never good.
Hartford: Single-Back formation with trips receivers, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 with nickel personnel and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the pass. Fisher and Scurlock are blitzing.
2-10-HAR46 (4Q: 02:08) Rob Ding ran around left end for 54 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Key block delivered by Martin Gary. Hartford 29, Atlantic City 6
Offensive Standout: TE Carlos Polhemus – 11 catches, 123 yards
Polhemus had his second double digit receiving day but it was not enough as the rest of the team, and the rushing offense, struggled.
Defensive Standout: ILB Dominic Castillo – 9 tackles (2 asst), 2 passes defensed
The Phantoms defense played well for the majority of the game versus a very tough opponent. Castillo now leads the team with 69 tackles for the season.
Question for the Week: How will ACI recover from their first loss?
The Phantoms were able to win quite a few close games this year as they marched to an 8-0 record. They then ran into the buzzsaw called Hartford and came back to earth. On the positive side, Hartford has been beating everybody in the CFL on the way to 4 straight titles.
