The CFL's San Antonio Stingers management has taken notice of their porous defense last year it appears. In the early days of free agency, they decided to spend a large chunk of the free cap space. With the core of Farr, Hartman and Parker locked up for several years, the Stingers were able to be more aggressive in their signings.

It began with the signing of new defensive coordinator Nolan Rauch. Bottom line is that someone had to be held accountable, and GM Shooter wasn't taking the blame!

Things started in the secondary with signings of veterans Randall Mack away from Baltimore, R.J. Poffenroth away from Iowa City. These two veterans will bring some stability along with Anthony Bjorkstrom and the highly touted rookie Shawn Elliot. The stingers weren't done as they also stole Glen Norwood away from division rival New Orleans.

The Stingers did not stop in the secondary. With the retirement of longtime DT Harold Harmon, there was a big whole up the middle of the defensive line. The stingers then went out and signed the two highly sought after DTs on the market in Clay Fox from Detroit and Desmond Macri from New Orleans. Getting talent from a division rival is always sweet. We just wish it came from Shreveport.

If San Antonio was successful in their shopping spree and the defense can hold up their end this year, San Antonio looks to challenge in the division and may be prime for a deep playoff run.

You get nothing from Shreveport, except defeat! (Looks like it will be fun one in the Deep South this year)

That's fine. I'll just plan on dishing it out to the Pussycats this year.

Nolan Rauch was an alcoholic and a womanizer during his days in Vegas. Not that we didn't enable him but he will likely crack under pressure.

What kind of offensive lineman becomes a defensive coordinator anyway?
