Hosting Honolulu we will give this one the full treatment.

We had a bad feeling about this game as we have a few fumble-prone players and it was snowing. Also our All Pro LT was out meaning we could not run at HONs biggest weakness and perhaps could not count on a clean pocket to operate our normal run-and-stun.

Both teams had top short pass defenses with HONs advantage also extending to the middle level. With that stud scrambler QB they got, and we decided not to Spy and kept 2 safeties back most of the time instead. Onto the action...

We were doing okay but came up short on a 4th and 2 within long FG range and got it back quick with great field position. Our rookie butterfingered punt returner coughed it up but we were lucky to recover. After a few nice conversions we threw it deep from their 20 and got our TD. Nothing doing for HON and we punted from midfield.

HON got their first couple firsts but gave it back before reaching midfield. 2 more punts to get to 5 straight and this was a snow game alright, when WR Ferguson brought in a deep ball to get us into long FG range and we converted a 3rd and medium before TE Evans worked the seam to get su inside the 10 where we could not get it done but went up 10. Terhorst now 13/14 for 178 yards while HON was at less than 2 yards per play. Another 3 and out from HON but we missed the long FG after failing on 3rd and short. HON threw a pick during their 2 minute drill and we managed to add 3 more to our lead before the half.

Had to feel good but sometimes Os get a lot better with adjustments at the half and a 13 point lead was not safe in these conditions.

Despite their coordinators trying to give the game away, HON converted a couple 3rd and longs and got soem deeper balls out to their TE before tossing in a quick strike form the 2 to narrow our lead to 6. We moved it a bit but petered out at midfield and got it back after a 3 and out with good field position but had to punt from the orange zone. Another 3 and out for HON followed by a squandered opp for us had us early in the 4th quarter with HON pinned at their 6.

HON got a first but had to punt afterwards and butterfingers PR Reedy brought it back for 6 to give us a nice advantage despite missing the 2 point conversion. HON moving quickly got across midfield and converted a 4th and 2 in the orange zone before getting to our 1 with 5 minutes left down 12 where they quickly got their 7. Our run game finally came through when we needed it most grinding out 2 first downs so HON would take over at their 13 with just under 2 minutes left but anything can happen especially with FOF8s wonky end of game defensive logic.

2 20 yarders had them threatening quick but the 2nd was called back on what must have been the 5th holding penalty against them and they could not overcome the 1st and 20.

Helluva game Honolulu, despite our early domination you managed to almost even things up in most of the metrics with the difference obviously being our lucky PR TD. Terhorst was a masterful 23/28 as we managed to avoid TOs, our OL limitations and RZ struggles and come away with a tight W.

Next up a rematch against LA to whom we lost by 3 earlier thanks to 3 lost fumbles earlier this year.

GG Fargo, it sucks that we lost due to a PR TD.

Interestingly enough Honolulu was 7-1 at home and 2-7 on the road this season.

I can not figure this game out. I have a 20 rated rookie QB who is now 12-5. In other leagues I have 60+ QB's and the sink....anyways good game Cleveland...

And most importantly 0-1 in the snow?

Coming from Honolulu to Fargo must be a shock to the system.

Well, if the CFL's playoff calendar mirrors the NFL, then I'd have to agree with you. I was stationed in Alaska at Fort Wainright from 1985 to 1990, and during the NFL playoffs it was usually somewhere around forty to fifty below farenheit.

Now during the summer months, it would hit 90 degrees, but man was it a dry heat.

So ....immersion factor is challenged a bit. lol.
