GG Santa Cruz

We get back in the win column against a division rival. Offense was stuffed near the goal line on several occasions making us settle for 3 more often then we would like, but the defense was incredible. 7 sacks and 5 forced turnovers made this a pretty straightforward win for us. We're sitting at 3-5 and have 4 straight games on the road. It is going to be difficult to dig ourselves out of this hole, but our next 3 games are against teams that are below .500

Maybe we can put a nice streak together and get ourselves back in the mix

DEN scared us early withTE Gray ripping off 3 YAC chunks but then we just took over in every facet of the game.

Still healthy and keeping up with HON for the 1 seed but plenty of tough games left for both squads.

GG RBeyer.....

We get a nice team win, at home, vs. Atlantic City. Nothing like one of the leagues worst rush defenses coming to our crib to right the ship for the Militia....Cornelius Hughes finally had a good game. We had to change our game-plan a bit to put him in his comfort zone. I'm still not sure how to read my second year receivers. They look good on paper, but when they go outside their comfort zones on the field they perform terribly..... Not well rounded apparently...Meanwhile the rookie finally broke one for a big gain. He needs more touches, but he is wildly inconsistent too.......And my TE is trying to set the record for drops in a year....... He will see the bench before that happens.

Now we have the two division games back to back. You can throw out the records for these games.....They are going to be tight....And we need the wins to get back to .500 If we drop one, we may have to start seeing more young talent on the field.

Nice win for us vs. a good Las Vegas squad has us comfortably in the lead in our division at the mid-way point. We have a fairly tough schedule to finish the season though so can't rest on our laurels.

Good Luck the rest of the season

We are improving each week as I get to know this team better. It takes some time for me to find the right fit, but I feel like we are on the right track. I really wish I had made the switch to a 3-4 defense... that will happen next season. Adding WR JJ Pinner at the trade deadline seems to have made a difference. It’s too early to tell if we can really contend this season, but the future looks bright.
I’m happy with the progress so far

BJ,

That's your definition of a nice win? That sounds like a game-in-hand type of win. I'd call it more of a close win or a hard-earned win, especially when the GW FG comes with 24 ticks left in the 4th.

I was hoping we could play a little better defense than we did, especially on those drives that your offense did whatever it wanted at will. If we can tighten up a few things we start winning these types of games.

Good luck the rest of the way!

You make a valid point man, we certainly didn't get an easy win but I consider a nice win one in which we beat a good opponent. ANY win vs. a good opponent is a nice win in my books. As you pointed out, the margins in these games come down to a few plays or even one play and it's nice to be on the positive side of those games.

Anyway, best of luck. Your team is definitely good and I have no doubt the coin flips will start going your way before long.

I keep saying we are a quarterback away but the way Walsh has been playing for us I start to see the other positions of need. So we may not need a whole QB, just continued solid play from Walsh along with some minor tweaks before I'd say we are a playoff team.
