At Omaha and you know the commish is gonna get the full treatment. We have had some down weeks on O but are gonna keep doig what we do, they are one of those teams that plays a lot of Press like Miami which has given us a lot of trouble before. On D, we ended up using a lot of Cover 3 Cloud which we normally don't like much but with Dole and a general tendency to throw interediate it seemed liek the good option, we even used Cloud double 2nd a couple times sto essentially double bohth Dole and the TE. I have a hunch after rolling the same GP out for awhile Omaha will mix things up but we had some fun trying to put together a plan here.

A penalty got htem their firt conversion, but we recovered a strip sack on the next series and 3 runs later we are up 7. Their dangerous FB got them out of their own end after starting at their 8 and they hit hte TE on 3rd and long for a50 yard catch and run and they hit Dole for the tie a few plays later. We are plodding and dinking but coem up short on our 2nd 3rd and short and miss the 43 yard FG to open the 2nd Q.

Fb Carey gets another 1st for them and another D penalty offsets another stop and they end pinning us at our 2. Fulton gets us off our end and we take a couple shots downfield with Spradling getting us into the orange zone and we face our 3rd 3rda nd 1 ont he day this time banging it in for a TD. Center Gonads is putting on a clinic for Omaha but solid tacklign in the secondary get us hte ball back with 3 minutes left. Something screwy is happening wiht our depth chart where oru FB and backup WR are getting targets but regardless we are down at their 12 inside of a minute and TE Mardling makes his 3rd catch of the drive getting us up 14 before the half.

Our ground game is back in actoin while they have been boom or bust. We are nwo above 10 YPA in the air while they have slowed down. We are also 4/5 on 3rd needing an average of just 2.6 yards there. Penalties gifting a couple firsts to each side.

We are working our way downfield but a penalty takes us out of FG range and we miss another deep shot but manage to scramble to get us lined up for 3 more points. We knock Dole outta the game and another failed completion on 3rd leads to us takign over at our 6. CB Fulton gets in front of Spradling though and grabs a pick-6 making this a 10 point ballgame once again with 20 minutes left. Then Fulton loses a fumble on our first carry and Gonads gets them a 1st and goal. We get another strip sack but they reecover it and hit former Fargo WR Reedy over double coverage for the TD. We hit Mardling again, now 7/ for 91, to get to midfield but our roadgrader at RG goes out and WR Crabtree converts a 3rd and ogn for us via screen to close out the 3rd with us at their 35.

3rd own RB Woj onverts what must be his 3rd or 4th 3rd and medium for us and they are slowing down our run game now on early downs but seldom used 3rd WR gets behind the zone to ste us up at their 5. 2 more stuffs on early downs but we continue to be sharp on 3rd and go back up 10 with 10 minutes left. Omaha wastes no time though having success ont e ground and spreading it out in the air to bring it back to 3 points. More intermediate work from our passing game has us in the orange zone but a lost strip sack gives it back inside of 5 minutes. Wr Reddy hits abig screen gain to set up 1t and goal form the 1 and Omaha takes a 4 point lead inside of 3 minutes left. 3 intermediate gains have us at tehir 34 at the 2 minute warning and we get to their 7 with 39 ticks left and Woodard scrambles on 1st down getting the TD to put us up 3 but there are still 30 seconds left. Omaha used 2 plays to get across midifled and willhave once chance at the endzone but they take the sack.

Heckuva game Josh. We were jsut too good on 3rd (12/14) despite your guys heroics and the -2 TO margin. We racked up 34 firsts and 500 yards. Both teams were flawless in the RZ whcih made for an exciting game for sure.

Sorry about Dole doesn''t look like it will impact the career but I know you were already down 1 horse this season.

We are ow tied with Boise City but they have the tiebreak thanks to the conference record (maybe?). Just gotta keep plugging away. We don't have any real OL depth but will figure something out the next few weeks.

I thought for a moment we could win after we went up 35-31 but my defense was completely wore out by then and you guys put together a amazing 10 play 75 yard drive to win it.

Okay.... That's interesting.....

Especially considering there is no Steve Rogers on LA, and the game gave credit to my kicker for a 17 yard return.....for the other team!!! And.. He tackled himself.....WTF... ????


Oh... and we lost a close one because we threw two picks deep in the red zone.....Frustrating....

Even with McKnight benched and the runny Eli Cowley running the offense, the picks seem to just happen along with the unopposed returns for 6 points.

I can't believe with Cowley at the helm and Narcisse'splaying time reduced to almost zero, we were still within our turnovers' reach on the scoreboard.

Hopefully, I was able to get McKnight's attention (he was instantly disgruntled) and he will cut down on the recent turnover trend. I blame the new OC as much as I do the QB.
