We should probably start a discussion on the upcoming draft. Last season the draft seemed to drag on forever, and really just slowed down the league. It would be great if we could get some sort of draft utility but I have no clue how to do that, if anyone could come up with something that would be great! If that is not possible- we should figure out when to start the draft timer, how long the time limit should be...and what to do if a player misses his pick.

Any ideas? I really liked how the live drafts worked for the later rounds, but I dont think that is a good solution for the first 2 rounds.

Wasn't someone working on a draft utility for our league? Only it wasn't finished last time we had the draft.

I think JHandley was the one working on the draft utiltiy, but he's not here anymore.

I guess could take a shot at putting a simple app together, do we have the MySql database format enabled on this site? If not, what options are there on database storage?

I'll throw some ideas out there...

Start the draft after FA round 4.

You get 6 hours to make a pick. If you know you won't be online to make your pick then you need to submit a list to one of the moderators. Otherwise your scout will pick for you.

We'll do this for the 1st 2 rounds, then have 3 live drafts to finish it up.

Live draft #1 - round 3
Live draft #2 - rounds 4 & 5
Live draft #3 - rounds 6 & 7

If you can't make the live draft then you can submit a list or allow your scout to draft for you.

Personally, I say do a draft for the first 3 rounds. Anything after that you submit a list or just auto draft for you.

I like the later rds via live. I prefer to do all the rounds and make those later picks. Would be opposed to just having a scout or list pick for the 4-7 rds. Like the suggestion for board draft for rds 1-2 and then 3-7 by short live sessions.
