Ugh...

The good news.... No injuries to first line starters.

The bad news - Back-up QB and back-up RB looked awful and the defense (starters and back-ups combined) was horrific. Lost a back-up DT for the year. Which is now the second DT lost. I probably crippled 3 players chances of being on the CFL All-pro team.

I am thankful that we protected the starters as we were assured a division crown either way. It was a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" situation. It just left a bad taste in my mouth getting spanked like that. Hat's off to Santa Cruz. They pounded us as you can see by our first 12 possesions. Yikes!!

Not a great game but Hopkins and the pass defense were in good shape.

MLB Charles Shepard is up to 95/95 and is still creeping. And we've got the league's largest current win streak at 8....soon to be ended in an early exit from the playoffs to be sure, but this has been a good season for Durham.

I really thought I had this one
The score was 17 all at the end of three quarters and we were moving the ball well and coming up with big stops on defense.
Our big downfall was QB Nixon picking this game to implode with the dreaded "the ball flutters a bit and is intercepted" happening 4 times in our end of the field.
He only had 1 INT in his first 6 starts, so this was kind of inexplicable

So on to the finale for us against Tucson, a win gets us to 8 and 8. I would take that and consider this season a success.
