Well we are almost finished with 4 rounds...how would you rate your own draft so far?

I have probably had the most picks- and I think with each pick I filled a need.
1(4) RB Fulton- I desperatley needed a RB, and Fulton was the best one in this draft...I woulg say this was a very good pick. Definate starter.

1(31) WR Campbell- I have 2 FLs who would be good...but I believe you can never have too many good WRs- there was no one that really stuck out at this pick so I decided to go with the # 2 WR...even though it might have been a slight reach- I am worried he will never truly pan out into a very good WR but I think this was an OK pick...possibly starter after this season.

2(2) DT George- Run stopper- simple as that, he is a great run stopping DT and should really help my defense that was horrible last season. He is penciled in as an immediate starter. I think this was a very good pick at a position of need, and it also allows me to trade (or cut DT Bussard and his $2 million salary this season).

2(28) CB Ames- I had my eye on this guy for a while, I thought about addressing the CB need earlier, but I decided to hold off and hope this guy falls to me. He did. Right now he looks to be the nickle back- and will probably see a lot of time playing on special teams as a gunner. I am very happy with this pick- and I think in a season or two Ames could be a very solid starting CB.

No third round picks...

4 (2) DE Stokes- I currently have 2 solid DEs on my roster but that is it. I have no one behind them as a backup. Stokes will hopefully not have to start this season, if he does it means there was an injury to one of my better players. Stokes is an all around solid DE and although he may never develop into a great starter he should be a great backup for many years...and possibly see a season or two of starting time in his prime.

4(4) TE Porter- TE was another position I have a starter at but was looking for a solid backup and possibly a future starter. Porter is not much of a run blocking TE, which is what I was really looking for. But i simple could not pass on his pass catching ability. In a season or two Porter could be a solid starter in this league.

4 (23) G Mitkov- I needed a backup incase one of my guys gets injured. Mitkov was the best on the board so I took him...not much thought into this pick. I think it is a solid pick, but hopefully Mitkov will never be forced to start for me.

4 (28) WR Ross- An average WR...nothing special. I have a full roster of WRs but I have always been a strong believe in the thinking of "you can never have to many good WRs". Ross looks to be a player that if he develops he could be a solid starter in this league. He even looks like a player that could boom a little to me. Him and Campbell will be the # 3 & 4 WRs this year- but in a few seasons they could be 1 & 2. I think this was a good pick, not a need but a good player at this spot in the draft.

I have 3 picks left in the 6th & 7th...I am not sure where I am going with those picks yet.

So far I would rate my draft as a B- . I think I might have reached on WR Campbell, and no pick really stands out as a 'great' pick. Fulton was an easy choice...and a lot of my teams success depends on how Fulton plays a rookie. Any one have any thoughts on my draft? On their own draft? On a certain player you wanted but he went higher than you expected? Any huge reaches or steals that stick out right away?

Great topic! Here is my analysis of my own picks:

[b3786e0c]1 ( 16 ) DE Mitchell Vazquez[/b3786e0c] I gave up my 6th round pick to move up two spots to pick Vazquez. I thought it was worth it as I feared he wouldn't last until #18, and I had him rated significantly higher than anyone else left on the board. I feel good about this pick as I really needed a pass rusher at the DE position.

[b3786e0c]2 ( 50 ) LB Clifton Gideon[/b3786e0c] I was hoping to pick a CB in this round, as the four CBs on my roster are 34, 31, 36, and 35 years old. I tried (unsuccessfully) to trade up to get CB Jack Jeffries after which he was picked at #47 by Boston. Then I was hoping CB Steven Smalley would fall to me but he was picked at #49 by Tuscon. I didn't feel that any of the remaining CBs were worthy of getting picked at this position, so I decided to go with LB Gideon from Florida State. I feel he has a lot of upside, and almost makes up for losing LB Lee Luciano to Tampa Bay in free agency. Overall, I was a little disappointed by this pick.

[b3786e0c]3 ( 82 ) QB Kenneth Lester[/b3786e0c] I was still hoping for a CB here, but my guy Sedrick Boyd went two picks ahead of mine at #80 (Albany Engineers). Once again, I didn't feel that any remaining CBs were worthy of a pick here, so I decided to go with a different position again. I was happy to get a QB in this draft, as my starter Pittbull Pitts is 36 and my backup mentor is 34. Lester will get a year or two to learn the system before he will be asked to compete for the starting job. I'm hoping that he has the intangibles to be a quality starter in the future. Overall, I feel okay about this pick.

[b3786e0c]4 ( 114 ) RB Jerry Ackerman[/b3786e0c] Wouldn't you know it, Albany picked my CB (Bernie Callis) two picks ahead of mine for the second round in a row! :x I was starting to see a pattern here...the CBs were going quickly as they are a need for most teams. I felt like RB Ackerman from Nebraska was the best player on the board at this point. He will compete with returning starter and 1000-yard rusher Dudley Given, as well as free agent pickup from Santa Cruz James Vanwinkle. I will probably use a running back by committee approach this season since none of these three seem to stand out. Overall, I was a little disappointed with this pick.

So overall I only give myself a [b3786e0c]C-[/b3786e0c]. I really needed to get a CB and failed to do so. But this is the sort of thing that makes multi-player great and more enjoyable than single-player!

I traded down from the 8th pick in return for a fourth and a nice young strong safety who is signed cheap for three seasons. After missing out on some free agents, I was desperate for a decent safety and didn't like the potential of any I could draft in the first round.

1(21) WILB Eric Hodges, 6-1, 256#, California - Not an immediate need as I have 4 decent starters, but they are all free agents after this year. He was far and away the best inside linebacker in the draft and should be a fixture. He'll probably start at WILB and I'm predicting DRoY. (He was actually the second player on my list when I drafted him, but a small snafu made Hodges my pick. I think it worked for the best)

2(8) CB Wesley Stuart, 6-0, 205#, Arizona St. - He should be starting for us from day one as my cornerback situation is pathetic. Boom or bust type, but if he pans out he should be solid against the run and pass.

3(8) RT Clay Compton, 6-6, 323#, Georgia Tech - One of the strongest players in the draft, he could be an immediate starter depending on what I find in late free agency. Won't be a star, but should give me a cheap starter there for a number of years.

4(8) WR Carlton Nevarez, 6-4, 210#, Southern Cal. - A tall target with decent speed, should provide depth but may never be a starter.

4(21) SS George Toler, 6-4, 224#, Jackson St. - Great size, and intelligence, will provide needed secondary depth and, with high volatility, just may blow up.

Right now, I'd give myself a B, but Hodges needs to be the star I think he is considering the other needs I passed up. And Stuart needs to prove he's starting caliber.

My draft will either be great or terrible, it all depends on how Bridges turns out in training camp.

1(3) FL Tom Sonkin
I tried to trade down a few spots but was unable to make a deal that was quite to my satisfaction. Due to that, Sonkin was a bit of a reach at the third overall pick. However, he fits a definite need of my ballclub and will contribue immediately.

2(35) CB Jeffrey Dresslar
Dresslar is certainly one of the better corners in the draft and will fill a huge hole in my roster. One of the major areas of weakness for the Rockets was my corners, but Dressler should help solidy my secondary and make my already solid defense even better.

3(67) TE Lance Delgado
After the tragic defection of TE Delbert Lonergan to those evil Fargo Boxcars I had a huge hole in the tight end position. Delgado certainly wasn't the most talented TE in the draft, but I feel that I picked him at the right point. He wouldn't have lasted much longer int he draft, and there was a pretty decent drop off in TE talent after him. Delgado most likely won't ever be an All-Pro, but I think he'll be solid in my offense.

4(99) RB Terrell Keith
On the surface it may not seem that running back is a huge need for the Rockets since we have Stephen Metz starting in the backfield. However, Metz underperformed last season, averaging only 3.4ypc. I feel that Keith has a shot to be at least a good back up back to Metz, or even give Metz a run for his money. Keith is solid in certain attributes that Metz is sorely lacking in. This is one positional race to watch during the pre-season...

Overall, I would have to give myself a B- or C+ so far in the draft. It hasn't been a spectacular draft and I don't have any players who will become superstars at their position, but I have filled several several holes in my roster and improved the team quite a bit. I can't wait to see how these new players look after training camp... :)
