[be0a37ba][ue0a37ba]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/be0a37ba][/ue0a37ba]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes traveled to play the Baltimore Bombers in an AC ATLANTIC showdown and were blown out by the final score of 45-14. Bombers RB [player]Johnny Chiaverini[/player] was named MVP as he recorded 23 carries for 145 yards (6.3 Ypc) with a TD and 3 receptions for 28 yards (9.3 Ypc). Offensively, the Torpedoes pounded the ball out on the ground, but their passing game was limited. The Torpedoes allowed a sack and turned the ball over 5 times, which sealed their fate in this game. The Torpedoes made key 3rd down conversions. The Torpedoes were held to 7 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. The Bombers controlled the clock and set the pace of the game. Defensively, the Torpedoes shutdown the Bombers passing game, but struggled against the run. The Torpedoes forced 3 turnovers. The Torpedoes struggled to stop the Bombers on 3rd down. The Torpedoes allowed 35 points on 5 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes are in last place of the AC ATLANTIC, but still have a slim chance of winning the division and are still in the hunt to make the AC Playoffs. The Torpedoes (7-7) host the Long Beach Calibiri (7-7) next week and are in for a fight. Can the Torpedoes win at home to end a 3 game skid or will the Calibiri find a way to win on the road?

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "This game was a completed disaster for us. It's tough to win games in the CFL when you don't protect the ball and it's nearly impossible on the road against a divisional foe. We were playing well a few weeks back, but have dropped the past 3 games and need to find a way to get our rhythm back. We can't lose another game if we want to have a shot at making it into the AC Playoffs. These last 2 games are very crucial for our season and we need to find ways to win these games. We host the Long Beach Calibiri next week who also have their backs against the wall. This game will come down to which team wants it more. We need to get our crowd into the game early, balance our attack, and protect the football if we want to have a shot at winning this game!"
