In the days after the draft we were able to track down coach Tramel for comment on the 2019 Stinger draft class. Here's what coach had to say.

[ba8e8ff6][player]Tyronne Whalen[/player][/ba8e8ff6] - Management has always had a knack for finding the big guys up front and Ty looks to fit that mold. We're anxious to plug him in along side the likes of [player]J.J. Houston[/player], [player]Toby O'Donnell[/player] and [player]Howie Bernard[/player] and see what these guys can to do in terms of getting to the QB. We'd sure like to get to rattle the cage of that Bradford guy out in Shreveport a little. If these guys can get pressure up front and let Berardi roam a bit we should be improved.

[ba8e8ff6][player]Harry Mittleman[/player][/ba8e8ff6] - We were surprised to see some talent at WR still there when we drafted in the 3rd. Mittleman may be a bit raw, but he should provide Vinnie another deep threat and loosen up those defenses a bit.

[ba8e8ff6][player]Renaldo Harding[/player][/ba8e8ff6] - He's a fairly big safety that most likely can play both the strong and the free. We'll find some time for him and see how he fits in. We were impressed with his combine and when we had a chance to sit down with this young man he won us over. He has a strong personality and we think he'll fit right in chemistry wise.

[ba8e8ff6][player]Glen May[/player][/ba8e8ff6] & [ba8e8ff6][player]Alfred Loftis[/player][/ba8e8ff6] - We can never have too much depth on the interior line. In the past few years, we've battled with injuries to some interior lineman and hopefully these guys can learn under Wells and Copeland and produce on the field as needed.

[ba8e8ff6][player]Mercury Hawkins[/player][/ba8e8ff6] - With a name like Mercury you'd figure he's got speed to burn. Well this couldn't be farther from the truth. On film we saw a solid route runner and someone who can adjust on the fly. He also excelled on special teams which will be key for him to make the team.

[ba8e8ff6][player]Russell McKenzie[/player][/ba8e8ff6] - What, we drafted a punter? What the !@!$@? Last time I hit the head during the draft. Well at least his name isn't Billy Joe, so he's got that going for him.
