[b6708c46][u6708c46]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/b6708c46][/u6708c46]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes traveled to play the Baltimore Bombers in an AC ATLANTIC showdown and were blown out by the final score of 37-13. Bombers QB [player]Cornell Beyer[/player] was named MVP as he completed 11 of 13 passes (84.6%) for 126 yards with 2 TD's before being knocked out of the game with a foot injury. Offensively, the Torpedoes were able to move the ball well through the air, but their run game was shutdown. The Torpedoes allowed 6 sacks and turned the ball over 3 times. The Torpedoes struggled to convert on 3rd down. The Torpedoes were held to 3 points on 1 trip to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes controlled the clock and set the pace of the game. Defensively, the Torpedoes contained the Bombers run game, but struggled against the pass. The Torpedoes allowed 2 sacks. The Torpedoes made key stops on 3rd down. The Torpedoes allowed 17 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes sit in last place of the AC ATLANTIC, but a lot of football remains to be played. The Torpedoes (0-1) host the Denver Dynamite (1-0) next week. Can the Torpedoes bounce back with a win at home or will the Dynamite remain unbeaten with a win on the road?

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "This was a disastrous start to the season. We couldn't get things going and got thumped out there. We need to protect our QB and not allow him to get hit the way ours did today. We also need to find a way to get our run game going. We will review the game film and find ways to get more production out of our offense. We got the jitters out of our system and now it's time to step up and play some football. We need to put this loss aside and move on with our season. We host the Denver Dynamite next week and need to step up to this new challenge. We need to set the tone early on defense, get our crowd into the game, and find ways to protect our QB if we want to have a shot at winning this game!"
