Week 12 of the CFL saw the Deep South go 2-2. Both Tennessee and Shreveport picked up wins at home while the Stingers lost a heart-breaker at home to Santa Cruz and New Orleans got crushed by Huntington Beach.

In an odd occurrence the Deep South Player of the Week is from a losing team. Vince Sheen, QB of the Stingers, was 17 of 28 passing for 301 yards with three touchdowns, two interceptions, and a passer rating of 103.4. The resiliency he showed in the losing effort should rally this team down the stretch.

Week 13 Preview:

New Orleans @ Chicago:
New Orleans has been struggling as of late and Chicago is coming off of their first win of the season. Expect both teams to return to their true form as New Orelans rolls 20-10.

Shreveport @ Cleveland:
This should be a good one as Cleveland knows a win over Shreveport gets them back in control of their playoff destiny. Look for Cleveland QB Marco Bennett to have a big day. Cleveland 31, Shreveport 27.

Atlantic City @ Tennessee
Another 7-4 team, Atlantic City, against a 6-5 team, Tennessee. Atlantic City has been consistently good while the Militia have been all over the place. Tennessee hopes to keep rolling at home since four out of their last five games are played at the half empty Liberty Bowl but Atlantic City will be too much.
Atlantic City 27, Tennessee 10.

Brooklyn @ San Antonio
San Antonio is the better team here, especially at home. San Antonio 24, Brooklyn 7.

Playoff Picture:
The division right now is too close to call as only two games separate the top and bottom teams. Right now the game to keep an eye on is Week 15's San Antonio @ Shreveport matchup. It may serve as the defacto Deep South Championship. Also keep in mind that over the last five weeks of the season each team still has two division games left.

New Orleans has been inexplicably shaky but I agree that they'll right the ship this week. If they don't, heads should roll.

This week was a crushing loss. We missed an early field goal which proved to be the difference maker. The passing game produced several big plays and we couldn't capitalize with a "W".

Coming out of Atlantic City Today:

Huffy is injured and 11 year vet C.J. Santoki will get the starting nod against Tennessee. This injury is obviously going to be significant as the Phantoms will have to rely on a rushing attack thats ranked 18th in the league. Could be a good game down south...
