This preseason is becoming quite the nightmare. I don't know what the hell is happening. I'm just flooding the transaction log with "offer withdrawn due to..." notices.

Greg Williams is not the only guy that I tried to renegotiate a contract with..ugggh! So here I am, either imagining things or I'm simply not paying enough attention to what I'm doing. I swear to god that something funky is going on.

The Champ is confused.

You can't renegotiate if you are over the cap

Actually you can, but the result of that negotiation has to bring you back under the cap. So, unless the renegotiation is of the big contract, it will fail.

Yes, but I released players to get under the cap and then renegotiated to get even further under the cap.

You had a rough offseason last year and you still ended up winning the championship. Maybe these sorts of things are good for your team!

About the salary cap, are you aware that only the top 53 players on your roster count towards the cap? If you have more than 53 players then releasing some players doesn't necessarily lower your cap figure. It only lowers it if the player is one of the 53 top-paid players on your team.
