Can you have one player backup more than 2 positions?

The reason that I ask is because in the last game plan that I sent in, I had 2 players who each backed up 3 positions (one of those was my WILB in a 4-3 a position that I hate that I have to fill). Anyhow, it seems as though the depth charts had been reorganized by my scouts, because people that I declared as inactive for the week ended up playing in the game.

Any help would be good.

Absolutely yes. I do it all the time.

You probably had some other roster issue, such as not enough players at one position or such like...!The problem is, if the AI starts messing with your roster or depth chart, I think it will change all depth charts and not just the one with the problem.[/quote]

Looking at the transaction log it looks like you signed a free agent (ILB Eric Samuel). This probably put your roster to 47 active players and then the AI rearranged everything. In general it is recommended that you only sign free agents during the midweek stages and not during the gameday exports.

Did you by chance switch to a 3-4 defense for this game ? or hit the 'recommend' button on the misc setting screen (or whatever it's called)?

Then the AI would have had to sign an extra ILB...

This sounds more like what happened. I tried to sign an ILB in the midweek stage and was unable to do so. Somebody outbid me. I had 2 ILB's on my team and one had a 2 week injury. I set the depth chart so my injured ILB did not play, even though he was active. The computer must have thought that he was injured enough that I needed to sign another player. Once it did that, it probably screwed up my whole lineup.

I guess you live and you learn.
